We are proud to be teaming up with Waste Free Systems to reduce our daily waste and become a more sustainable business 🤍

Waste Free Systems began in 2016, helping hair salons become more sustainable, and working to repurpose salon waste into new products and materials.

Last week, Dale from Waste Free System introduced a Start Bin Kit into our Ethical Hair Co Salon, which included separate bins for hair, plastic, metals and paper and cardboard. Dale trained our staff on how to implement the process into our daily routines, how to make sure the right materials are being collected, and how to prepare for collection.

In Waste Free System’s sorting and management facilities, they sort all collected waste based on the resource material. From there, waste is bailed, compacted, and prepared to shipping to a variety of processing suppliers who recycle, reuse or repurpose the waste.

We will soon be able to see how much waste we have diverted from landfill, and what environmental impacts our business is having. Thank you to the team at @wastefreesystems 🌱 ...

Did you know that our EverEscents and Clever Curl product bottles are made from milk bottles?

We are proud that our product bottles are not “single-use plastic bottles” and are 100% recyclable. After use, you can refill, repurpose or recycle them! Your conscious decision will make all the difference to help reduce waste.

Through our Refill initiative, EverEscents and Clever Curl salon stockists can offer a refill service from their basin stock or a dedicated refill station. Most Salon owners will offer a friendly discount when you utilise the refill service saving both money and the environment.

It’s National Recycling Week! ♻️

We had a visit from EnviroCom Australia to complete a waste audit, helping us learn how to make our workplace even more sustainable 🌱

EnviroCom Australia works with businesses and individuals to provide the most efficient, cost effective and environmentally sustainable solutions for each situation.

During our audit, we emptied each department’s bins and sorted through the contents to see how we could improve our separation systems from recycling, organic waste, general waste and supporting @4changeqld . 

We also took a walk around our site to make sure bins were correctly labelled and accessible in every space.
