Can I have my order gift wrapped?
You can! We source all of our beautiful gift wrap, tags and twine from Earth Greetings. All materials are printed in Australia with vegetable based ink, made from 100% post-consumer waste and Carbon offset by Earth Greetings’ donation to the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor. Over 10% of profit from every piece of wrapping paper sold is donated to care for native wildlife and restore habitat.
How to dispose:
Wrapping paper can be recycled or home composted.
Our Fair-Trade Hand spun Hemp Variegated Twine is made from 100% hemp, hand dyed and hand spun in a Fair Trade process by artisans located on a river in the village of Bagdha, District Barisal in Bangladesh. Support for this project improves the artisan's standard of living and provides necessary income for their families.
About the Artists:
Journey & My Grandmother’s Country
Natalie Jade is an Australian artist with indigenous (Palawa) roots that express themselves through her artwork. Natalie was born into a family where “paint runs through their veins.” She believes art is a journey of self-discovery and expression. ”The purpose of my art is to create something beautiful that has a vibration through the colour and forms, to uplift others and their surroundings.”
Australian Wildflowers
Artwork by local artist Negin Maddock celebrates the unique beauty and diversity of Australian native flora and fauna. Negin Maddock is an illustrator, surface designer, and printmaker from Sydney, Australia. At university she studied mechanical engineering, and later a PhD in biomedical engineering. Being a scientist, Negin takes a very technical approach to her art making, believing a deep understanding and knowledge of the subject matter are the key to a successful design.
Wildflower Moorland
Claire Ishino creates joyful artworks inspired by botanical forms, pattern and colour that lift your spirits and fill your home and heart with happiness. Claire’s work is informed by several years she spent living and working in Japan, surrounded by beautiful colours and textures of Japanese washi paper, kimono fabrics, kabuki costumes and woodblock prints. Her works are happy, graphic florals with sometimes surprising colour combinations, clean lines and attention to details reflective of her background in jewellery design.

Absolutely! In fact, we encourage it.

Do you offer Low Allergen products?
Ethical Brand Co is proud to offer a range of Fragrance Free, low allergen hair and skin products. Both EverEscents and Clever Curl Fragrance Free ranges have been Allergy Certified by Safe Cosmetics Australia.
What does “Curl Friendly” mean?
At Ethical Brand Co we have worked hard to ensure our products are as inclusive as possible, and don’t contain ingredients that could get in the way of healthy, beautiful hair.
We are well researched and educated when it comes to CGM and Curl Friendly products and ingredients, which is why our products do not contain any sulfates, silicones or drying alcohols.
What does “Organic and naturally derived ingredients” mean?
In Australia, certifying bodies require a minimum of 70% Organic ingredients for a product to be Certified Organic.
EverEscents and Clever Curl products well surpass this requirement with EverEscents products containing at least 75% and up to 96% Certified Organic Ingredients, while Clever Curl products contain at least 77.5% and up to 88.7% Certified Organic Ingredients. In most cases, products are 99% naturally derived.
Ethical Brand Co is passionate about reducing the use of toxic chemicals in cosmetics. Choosing to source organic ingredients wherever possible ensures that our botanical plant ingredients are rich in powerful, natural properties and not affected by chemical pesticides.
Are your products tested on animals?
Ethical Brand Co is strongly opposed to the testing of cosmetic products and ingredients on animals. We do not and will not ever test our products or ingredients on animals, nor will we ever commission others to do so.
To show our commitment to ethical and cruelty free manufacturing, Ethical Brand Co have obtained official Cruelty Free accreditation for each and every one of our products from Safe Cosmetics Australia.

Are all Ethical Brand Co products Vegan?
Every product in the Clever Curl, Eco Style Project and Noosa Naturals range is Certified Vegan Friendly by Safe Cosmetics Australia and VegeCert.
EverEscents Organic Leave-in Moisture contains the ingredient Cera Alba (Certified Organic Beeswax) which is an ethically sourced bee by-product which is collected without causing any harm to bees, however this means it is not classed as strictly vegan.
With the exception of Leave-In Moisture, every EverEscents product is also Vegan Certified by Safe Cosmetics Australia.
Are all Ethical Brand Co products made in Australia?
Ethical Brand Co is a 100% Aussie owned company with all products being manufactured in Australia. Valuing Australian Trade is also about purchasing and sourcing materials and ingredients from Aussie suppliers including bottles, tubes, labels, posters and marketing materials.

Are your products refillable?
Absolutely! Ethical Brand Co are passionate about conservation and reducing our impact on the environment through reducing plastic waste.
We are proud to be one of the first professional Hair Care companies to pioneer and promote the refilling of our products across our Stockist network. Head to our brand pages and enter your Suburb and State in our EverEscents or Clever Curl Salon Locator to find your closest refill salon.
Is your packaging recyclable?
Yes! Almost all of our hard plastic, aluminum and cardboard packaging is 100% recyclable.
What is your packaging made from?
We are so thrilled to announce that after much research, testing and trialing, we have transitioned almost all of our plastic EverEscents and Clever Curl packaging to 100% recycled land waste plastic.
Milk bottles to be exact!
Along with the transition over to 100% Recycled Plastic, you may see a very small (almost unnoticeable) variation in the colour of our white Clever Curl bottles from time to time.
This is due to the variety of coloured lids (red, blue and green) from the milk bottles which are used to make our packaging.
We believe this is a small price we are willing to pay in order to do the best we can for our precious environment, and of course will not affect the efficacy or performance of the formula in any way.
The Team at Ethical Brand Co wish to thank you, our valued customers who inspire and drive us to continue to be the best we can be, lead the way in eco-conscious manufacturing practices, and do all we can to protect our precious Mother Earth.
