Oily Roots
Oily scalp is a common condition experienced by many, and occurs when the scalp’s sebaceous glands produce an excess of natural oils, which can sometimes lead to limp, heavy hair and other potential scalp conditions. This condition is more common in those with finer hair textures as the build up of excess oil on the scalp is more noticeable, and can more easily weigh down fine hair than thicker hair strands. Whilst natural oil production in our skin and scalp is completely normal and vital in keeping the skin protected and hydrated, there are products and ingredients that can certainly help to keep the less appealing side effects on the hair under control. This can include choosing lighter formulations containing the same, hair loving ingredients as the richer options and including Organic ingredients such as Bergamot citrus to help regulate sebum production on the scalp, and increase the time between washes.

This week we spent Tuesday and Thursday afternoon doing some very fun team building at Red Lock Escape Rooms in Maroochydore! We highly recommend doing these escape rooms as we all had the best time and the team work was taken to the next level 😂🤍

Amy is such an important part of Ethical Brand Co, an amazing person and a dear friend. Amy started off at just 21 in our Admin department and is now our IT and Systems Manager! She makes sure everything is running smoothly, introducing innovative changes and is also our ergonomic queen 😆

Hayley’s Kangaroo Stew was such a hit we couldn’t keep the recipe to ourselves!

Yesterday we celebrated NAIDOC week with our friends Macka, Lee-Samuel and the incredible Undumbi dancers @undumbidancers @undumbi_culture 🤍
We spent the morning watching incredible story-telling through dance and indulging in some amazing First Nation delicacies.

National Reconciliation Week 2024 🖤💛❤️
Yesterday we had the pleasure of having @leemuckan & @undumbi_culture join us in celebrating National Reconciliation Week. We hold dearly our friendship with the Muckan family and are constantly left with a greater understanding on First Nation’s history and cultural practices and the importance of continuing to share this knowledge.
The team at Ethical Brand Co acknowledge the traditional custodians of the beautiful land we have the honour of working, living and playing on - the Yinneburra clan of the Kabi Kabi people.
We acknowledge their loss of life, land & livelihood; the displacement of children, family & community; the fragmentation of identity & history. We are proud supporters of Reconciliation Australia and the work they do to educate the community and strengthen the relationships between Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people and non-Indigenous Australians.

Last night, Julia and Alexis from our RAP Working Group were honoured to attend the Sunshine Coast National Reconciliation Week 2024 Launch event at Tribal Link on Jinibara Country.
Our team (and their little ones) enjoyed the evening connecting with our Elders, Council Members and community, gathered together in the spirit of reconciliation.
Thank you to Kerry and the team at Tribal Link for welcoming us all on your beautiful country, and for sharing your heartfelt stories and hopes for a reconciled Australia.
